The appointment

Local Buy, the procurement arm of the Local Government Association of Queensland, has put Black Shard on the list of pre-qualified suppliers its member councils buy from. The arrangement runs on the LB308 General Conditions of Contract.

What councils can request a quote for

Each item is quoted to a fixed scope under the arrangement.

  • Penetration testing
  • Essential Eight assessment and uplift
  • SMB1001 readiness
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure security reviews
  • vCISO retainers
  • Managed hosting
  • Software engineering

How a council engages us

A council contacts us naming LB308, and we respond on the scope and terms the arrangement sets, at the rates lodged with Local Buy.

Council officers can request our capability statement and insurance certificates through the contact form.

Who it is for

It serves council ICT, governance and records teams that need a penetration test, an Essential Eight assessment, a system built or a service run, from one supplier that builds, tests and hosts the work itself.

Beside NSW and Victoria

LB308 sits beside our registration under the NSW Government ICT Services Scheme SCM0020 and our Victorian Fair Jobs Code pre-assessment certificate.

Our own estate

Our own estate holds SMB1001:2026 Gold, issued by CyberCert and checkable on its register, and Essential Eight Maturity Level 3 across all eight strategies.
