Black Shard

AI that reads the physical world and acts in it.

Computer vision, sensor pipelines and edge inference on site hardware, integrated with robotics, cameras and building systems, and operated as production software.

Talk to us about a site or a fleet

Physical AI is AI that runs where the work happens: a camera on a site, a sensor on a machine, a robot on a floor.

Edge, cloud and device operations

We engineer the vision and sensor pipelines, run inference at the edge where latency or connectivity demands it and in Azure where it does not, and integrate the results with the systems that act on them: robotics controllers, access and building systems, dispatch and job platforms. Devices are managed, patched and monitored like any other production fleet, every model decision is logged, and a person stays in front of any action that cannot be undone.

Computer vision systems

Detection, counting, reading and inspection from fixed and mobile cameras, tuned on the client's own footage.

What you get

  • A proof on real footage before any hardware is bought
  • Models tuned to the site's conditions, with precision and recall measured and reported
  • Results written to the systems that act on them, with the frame kept as evidence

Sensor and telemetry pipelines

Ingest from machines, meters and environmental sensors into one time-series store with alerting.

What you get

  • Device onboarding, identity and secure transport through Azure IoT
  • A time-series store with retention and access set for the business
  • Thresholds and anomaly alerts routed to the people who respond

Edge inference and device fleets

Inference on site where latency or connectivity requires it, with the fleet managed as production infrastructure.

What you get

  • Edge devices provisioned, patched and monitored as a managed fleet
  • Models deployed and rolled back from the cloud, with versions recorded
  • Store-and-forward so a site keeps working through a connectivity outage

Robotics and building-system integration

Integration with robotics controllers, access control, building management and dispatch systems through their published interfaces.

What you get

  • Integration through vendor APIs and industrial protocols, scoped in writing
  • Safety interlocks and a human approval step in front of any physical action that cannot be undone
  • Every command logged with its trigger and its outcome

Safety, monitoring and audit

The controls that let a business stand behind a system that acts in the physical world.

What you get

  • A decision log for every model output and every action taken on it
  • Monitoring of model drift and sensor health, with alerts to an engineer
  • A written safety case and operating procedure for each deployment

How it is shaped

A site assessment and a proof on real footage or sensor data first. Then a fixed-scope pilot on one site, then rollout under a managed service.

Tell us what the cameras and sensors need to do.
